Hardik Patel says ‘I will join Congress in a couple of days’

Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti leader, Hardik Patel, on Thursday, said he will join the Congress party soon. He said the date for the same will be announced after discussions with his colleagues and the Congress leadership.

Patel said the decision on whether he would contest the upcoming elections or not would be taken by the Congress leadership. It is reported that along with Patel, five of other nine members of the PAAS core group are likely to join the Congress party.

On the speculations, whether he is planning to join Congress or not, he said, “I have come to know about the news of my joining the Congress only from local newspapers, but the time and place is not yet confirmed. In the next couple of days, it will be confirmed. I will join the Congress in a short span of time and in the next couple of days. I will meet state Congress leaders and will put my issues before them and a later date and day will be fixed for me to join the party. If the party wishes, I may contest elections.”
