Kailash Vijayvargiya says ‘surprising how a beef-eater won in Madhya Pradesh’
Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, while speaking at a BJP worker’s gathering in Bhopal, on Saturday, pondered how a “beef-eater” could win an election when a nationalist government, which is against cow slaughter, was in power in Madhya Pradesh.
This statement came in reference to the Congress MLA from Bhopal central Arif Masood, who is a member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board. He defeated BJP’s Surendra Nath Singh in the recent the assembly election. Masood beat Singh by a margin of 14,944 votes in the Bhopal Central constituency.
Vijayvargiya said, “Your (Singh’s) loss caused me the greatest anguish. It is surprising that a nationalist government which stopped cow slaughter was in power (in the state), but a beef-eater won against you. It is a matter of shame for all of us.”
