Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi said though he will contest against the Congress party in the state assembly and will defeat it, but he will not speak a word against the Gandhi family, as he has “shared warm relations” with them during his long association with the Congress.

Talking to reporters, Jogi, on Sunday, said, “I have left the Congress and will campaign against the party in the assembly election, but will not speak against the Gandhi family, which has always loved me.” On being asked about the corruption allegations against former Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, Jogi said, “I will not speak anything against any member of the Gandhi family even during elections. I have shared warm relations with the family for decades."

Over his remarks on upcoming election, where had said that the fight is between his party – Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) and the BJP only, Jogi said, “The Congress neither has any face nor any organization in the state. It has no leader and has become useless.” Jogi further said, "It is a one-on-one contest between the JCC(J)-BSP alliance and the ruling BJP, and we will definitely win the election.”
