Mehbooba Mufti criticizes Samjhauta Express blast verdict, says ‘accused freed despite having evidence’
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, on Wednesday, criticized the special National Investigation Agency court verdict of acquitting four people in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case and said the accused were freed despite having evidence against them.
Mufti took to Twitter: “Despite damning evidence, the accused inc a former RSS member have been acquitted. God forbid, had they been Kashmiris / Muslims they would be pronounced guilty & imprisoned without even a fair trial. Why such double standards and leniency towards saffron terror?”
