Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi calls Azam Khan ‘Mogambo’, booked for violating model code of conduct

Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was charged for violating the model code of conduct after he referred to senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan as “Mogambo” at an election rally in Shabaad Ram Leela ground in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.

Naqvi used the moniker of a Bollywood villain, while attacking Khan for his “khaki underwear” remark allegedly directed at BJP candidate Jaya Prada.

The case was registered on the order of magistrate MK Gupta, who in his complaint, said, “This is a statement that can cause animosity and is also a violation of the model code of conduct.”
