Narendra Modi reacts to Lal Krishna Advani’s blog, says BJP veteran summed up ‘true essence’ of party
The prime minister, Narendra Modi, on Thursday expressed his views over Lal Krishna Advani’s blogpost, in which the BJP veteran asked the party to “introspect” and said political adversaries are not “anti-nationals” or “enemies”.
In a tweet, Modi said Advani has truly covered the Bharatiya Janata Party’s “true essence” in his blogpost.
Advani Ji perfectly sums up the true essence of BJP, most notably the guiding Mantra of ‘Nation First, Party Next, Self Last.’

Proud to be a BJP Karyakarta and proud that greats like LK Advani Ji have strengthened it. https://t.co/xScWuuDuMq
In the post – “Nation first, party next, self last” – Advani wrote: “Serving the motherland has been my passion and my mission ever since I joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at the age of 14 … The guiding principle of my life has been ‘Nation First, Party Next, Self Last.’ And in all situation, I have tried to adhere to this principle and will continue to do so.”
Modi had come under criticism recently for sidelining Advani, 91, the party founder, from the BJP. He was dropped from the party list of candidates for the Lok Sabha election. In this election, party president Amit Shah will contest from Advani’s Gandhinagar seat.
