Narendra Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, said only Congress can do a surgical strike on paper and videogames and say “me too, me too”. While pointing out former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s claims that his Congress-led UPA government did multiple surgical strikes, Modi, during an election rally in Rajasthan’s Sikar, said the number of surgical strikes does not matter if they are to be done “on a piece of paper or in videogames”.

Modi slammed Congress and said, “Jab kagaz par hi karni ho, jab video game mein hi strike karni ho to 6 ho ya 3 ho, 20 ho ya 25 ho, ye jhoote logon ko kya fark padta hai (When the surgical strikes are to be done on a piece of paper then how does it matter if they have conducted 6 or 25).”

Manmohan Singh, during an interaction with Hindustan Times, had said his government carried out several surgical strikes, but never used them to get votes. He had also called Modi government’s politicization of the armed forces as “shameful”.
