Pinarayi Vijayan to Amit Shah: ‘What do you know about Wayanad?’

The Kerala chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, on Thursday, took a swipe at the BJP chief, Amit Shah, for comparing Wayanad with Pakistan. The Congress president, Rahul Gandhi, is contesting from the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala.
Vijayan, while addressing an election rally in Wayanad, said it was strange that Amit Shah has no clue about Wayanad and its historical relevance, yet made those comments. He said, “What does he know of Wayanad? It’s here that the legendary warrior king Pazhassi Raja staunchly fought the British. And without knowing history, he (Shah) relates this place with Pakistan.”
Recently, Shah, in an election speech, compared Wayanad with Pakistan a direct reference to the innumerable green flags of the Indian Union Muslim League, the second biggest ally of the Congress.
