Rahul Gandhi sarcastically congratulates Narendra Modi for ‘famous’ and ‘very confidential’ award
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, received a previously unknown award, which is curiously named “Philip Kotler Presidential Award”. Following this, senior and well-known BJP members and ministers congratulated on social media. Then, the Congress president, Rahul Gandhi “congratulated” Modi with a dash of sarcasm on Twitter and broke the internet.
Gandhi wrote: “I want to congratulate our PM, on winning the world famous "Kotler Presidential Award"! In fact, it's so famous it has no jury, has never been given out before and is backed by an unheard-of Aligarh company.”

News portal Wire did a probe on the award and found: “The Philip Kotler Presidential Award by the World Marketing Summit India, whose event here in December was co-sponsored by a public sector company, GAIL India, and partnered by Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali group, Republic TV (co-owned by BJP MP Rajeev Chandrashekhar), and a number of other companies and there is no mention of the Kotler Presidential Award on the websites of either WMS18 – the Delhi ‘summit’ – or its parent body, the WMS Group, or anywhere …”
Later, Wire also found a Saudi link to the award, deepening its mystery.
