Rahul Gandhi.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi taught him “what not to do” and, he “learned a lot” from his massive defeat in 2014 Lok Sabha election.

Rahul Gandhi also said Modi had received a massive mandate from the people, but he refused to listen to “heartbeat of the country”.

Addressing a news conference after the victory of Congress in the states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, Gandhi said, “I was speaking to my mother yesterday and I was telling her that the absolute best thing for me was the 2014 election. I've learned a lot from that election.”

As a politician one must listen to what the people feel and connect with what they feel, he said. "Frankly, Mr Narendra Modi taught me the lesson of ‘what not to do’.”
