Shiv Sena says assembly poll results show a yearning for ‘BJP-mukt’ regime
A day after the BJP faced defeat in the assembly elections held in the four states, especially in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the Shiv Sena, on Wednesday, said this was an indication that people now want to have a “BJP-free” establishment.
Being an ally of the BJP it the Center and in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena, in its mouthpiece, Saamana, said these results have busted the myth of the BJP’s invincibility and “brought those flying in the air back to the ground.”
The Saamana editorial also attacked the BJP’s alleged “business cronies” and said the country is run according to the “whims of four–five businessmen” and that this breaking of this nexus was important.
The Marathi publication also said: “The results clearly show that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and (BJP president) Amit Shah’s dream of making the country Congress-mukt has gone to the dust in the BJP’s own regime. People of these states have indicated an yearning for a ‘BJP-mukt’ regime.”
