Sukhbir Singh Badal claims ‘Congress gameplan is to book us in false cases’

Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, on Tuesday, alleged that the state Congress government is working to slap false cases against Akalis, referring to the police probe into Bargari sacrilege incident, which was ordered by the Congress government. He said the probe was in the right direction, but then it was handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation on public demand.

Sukhbir, while speaking to reporters during a SAD rally in Nurmahal, said, “It is their game plan to get us booked in false cases as the Congress is frustrated.”

He made this statement when he was asked about Congress alleging the Akali Dal’s complaint was its attempt to save itself and former head of Dera Sirsa for their alleged involvement in the case. Sukhbir said this act by the Congress proves that they were “out to book us in false cases through the special investigation team”.
