After Pulwama terror attack, Captain Amarinder Singh says ‘time for peace talks over, time to give befitting reply’
Reacting to the jihadist suicide attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama, the chief minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, has called for a “befitting reply” to the perpetrators of the attack and their handlers. He also said “time for peace talks is over”.
Speaking in the Punjab assembly, which unanimously passed a resolution condemning the attack, which left 42 CRFP personnel dead, Singh said, “Enough is enough … The time for talking peace is over. It is time to teach them a lesson.”
Holding Pakistan responsible for the attack, Singh, in an emotional speech, said, “Indian soldiers are being killed by the enemy from across the border every day. Things are getting out of control now. If we don’t act now, they may again resort to such misadventure. The time has come for the Centre to understand their (Pakistan’s) designs and give them a befitting response.”
