Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, on Monday, accepted Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath’s challenge of contesting from the “toughest seat in the state” – Raghogarh, which the party has lost in 2004 and again in 2014, in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Singh took to Twitter and said, “Thanks to Kamal Nath ji who invited me to contest from seats where the Congress is weak in Madhya Pradesh. I am grateful to him that he thought me capable of the job.”

In another tweet Singh said, “With the support of the people of Raghogarh, during the 1977 Janata Party wave, I contested and won. Accepting challenges is my habit. I am ready to contest the Lok Sabha election from the seat my party president Rahul Gandhi wants me to.”

Nath, on Saturday, in Chhindwara challenged Digvijay Singh to contest from the Raghogarh Lok Sabha constituency, which was won by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Rodmal Nagar in 2014.
