Omar Abdullah.

The deputy leader of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah, on Friday, said it was unfortunate that the prime minister, Narendra Modi, is using fearmongering in his election campaign rather than focusing on his five-year track record in governance.

Abdullah, who is also a former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, in an interview with PTI said, “I am surprised that a Prime Minister who has supposedly a five-year track record to fight these elections on is fighting them on the fearmongering that it is ‘only Pakistan and terrorists’ who want him to lose (the Lok Sabha election).”

He further said that he believes that Congress should form regional alliances as it is the only pan-India opposition party.
