Pointing out to the BJP manifesto, which the party released on Monday, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat Ahmed Patel said the Bharatiya Janata Party has simply copy-pasted its 2014 poll document and changed all previous deadlines.

Patel said the BJP should release “maafinama” (apology document) instead of a manifesto. He said, “The difference between the BJP manifesto and Congress manifesto is apparent  from the cover page. Our manifesto has a crowd of people, and BJP manifesto has face of just one man.”

Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala said that the ruling party in the Centre had failed to mention about employment and jobs in its manifesto. BJP did not give importance to the jobs. He said the BJP promised “one nation, one tax” but “changed it 900 times”.

Delhi chief minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said the BJP has released a new bunch of “jumlas” (rhetorical promises) without telling about its 2014 jumlas. He said, “The Modi-Shah duo should be ashamed for the demonetization, they should take responsibility for 2 crore jobs. BJP should respond why were farmers pushed towards destruction?”

Meanwhile, the West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, said the country “should oust Narendra Modi not just from the post of prime minister but also from the politics”. She added that the people will stick a plaster on the PM’s lips so that he will be not able to tell lies.
