HD Deve Gowda rejects his narrative of defeat, says ‘not a big issue’
Former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Deve Gowda, on Friday, rejected the narrative of his defeat in the Lok Sabha poll and said this is “not a big issue”.
While talking to reporters, he said, “As a former prime minister, I have been defeated twice. This is not a big issue.”
It is noted that the JD(S) leader has lost to BJP's GS Basavaraj from Tumakuru Lok Sabha seat by a 13,000 vote margin.
Deve Gowda added that “My concern is how to save a regional party. I will see that JD(S) strengthens its base. I will take the responsibility and proceed forward.”
He also said, “I am not going to blame anybody for the loss. How it happened is not to be discussed in media.”
