Narendra Modi to Mamata Banerjee: ‘Didi your slap will be blessing for me’
While referring West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee remarks that she wanted to give Modi a “tight slap of democracy”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at an election rally at Purulia, on Thursday, said, “Didi, I would consider a slap a blessing.” He also doubled down on his “tolabazi” or extortion allegation that had provoked Mamata Banerjee’s comments.
Modi said “I am told Didi has said she wants to slap me. Didi, oh, Didi! … I call you ‘Didi’ (elder sister) … I respect you … Your slap will be a blessing for me.”
He also kept up his relentless attack on the Trinamool chief on chit fund scandals and “tolabaji” or extortionist tax.
Modi, then throwing a challenge to Mamata, said, “If you had the guts to slap the tolabaj (extortionists), then the Triple T ... TMC Tolabaji Tax ... you would not be ruined by them.”
