BJP MLA Surendra Singh makes controversial comment on Sonia Gandhi and Sapna Chaudhary

With a track record on passing controversial comments, Surendra Singh, a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia, attacked Sonia Gandhi and Sapna Chaudhary on the latter joining the Congress, triggering yet another row.

While in a conversation with news agency, he said, “Rahul’s mother was also in the same profession in Italy and his father (Rajiv Gandhi) made her his own. He (Rahul Gandhi) should also take the family tradition forward and make Sapna his own.”

Reacting to Singh’s comment, Sapna Chaudhary said Rahul Gandhi was like her “elder brother” and called Singh’s remarks as “highly disgraceful and condemnable”.

This not the first time that Surendra Singh has stirred up a controversy with his below-the-belt remarks. In January, he likened Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka with Ravana and Shurpanakha, while calling the prime minister, Narendra Modi, Lord Ram.
